What is the peculiarity of Pessac-Léognan appellation?

The appellation accounts for almost 40 châteaux and is aged thirty years including all the Grands Crus Classés of Graves and the symbolic Château Haut-Brion.

Pessac-Léognan produces mainly red wines and dry white wines as its territorial heritage creates its identity. The soil is indeed composed of gravel, pebbles, sand and clay thus allowing both the red and white grape varieties to obtain this unique characteristic that is recognizable amidst thousands, specific to this region.
