The Spring fair weekend at Médoc saw no less than 50 chateaux opening their doors to welcome anyone who turned up – no appointment necessary.
For wine lovers, or the merely curious, what a perfect opportunity to visit these estates and taste the wines they produce.
And there were lots of things to do such as rides in horse drawn carriages and plenty for children too. Personally, I opted for the gourmet walk organised by the Aquitaine Sports Committee, which took us right into the heart of the vineyards.
Unfortunately, even though it’s great fun the Spring fair is only transitory. But remember that although most of the Bordeaux chateaux do open their doors all year long it’s never easy to just walk in. However, now that Wine Tour Booking has arrived you can look on your computer and find out who’s open and when, and what they have to offer. You can book too, at no extra cost, for wine-tastings. Now we can really say that Medoc and other Bordeaux estates have an all-year-round open-door policy – because Wine Tour Booking is the key!
