Did you know that the Saint-Emilion vineyard is registered as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO ?

It’s an honour that very few landscapes achieve, let alone vineyards ! Philippe MARGOT, top wine journalist, has studied the subject in depth and could only find 9 out of the 936 sites so distinguished worldwide. He’s written all about it. Browsing through his detailed and well-illustrated work we can really understand why this particular wine estate attracts so much interest worldwide and merits its cultural distinction.

Before setting off for Saint-Emilion, have a look at what Philippe says on http://www.cepdivin.org/articles/phmargot017.html. On the same website you’ll find 18 digital books, also with lots of illustrations, on similar subjects such as VIGNE & VIN (Vine and Wine) and ART & VIN (Art and Wine) available free.

But it’s not the only one…

As a matter of fact, Saint Emilion is not the only french region to be recognized as a part oh the Unesco world heritage. Indeed, on the forth of July 2015, two other wines regions got registred : the Champagne region, its vineyards and cellars; and then the Burgundy regions and appelations. Then, Unesco decides to reward these beautiful landscapes, builded winehouses and of course its ancestral knowledge about wine making.
